It’s no secret that correctly placed furniture, pragmatic placement of departments and office equipment significantly increase productivity. Designers use various techniques, depending on the tasks, create open spaces with game elements for IT companies, a strict and seasoned style for financial organizations. What are the latest trends in the design of offices that create a positive and working atmosphere?

Design solutions to improve office productivity

The main task of designers in recent years has been to create a healthy atmosphere in the workplace. Physical health was a priority, so companies sought to organize sports sections in the office, fitness, yoga, set up tennis tables, basketball hoops, create their own sports teams. Today, the emphasis is shifting from a “healthy” office to an “well-being” office, which means not only physical health but also emotional balance, a certain mental state, and a reduction in stress levels.

That is why landscaping comes to the fore for offices around the world. The so-called biophilic design originated in the USA in 1984, thanks to the biologist Edward Wilson. He believed that each person at a subconscious level seeks unity with nature, which became the basis for the implementation of a well-thought-out concept in the commercial sector. So, the main components of this design are:

  • The use of natural and environmentally friendly materials in the interior. It can be wood, natural stone, water.
  • Daylight. Creating glass ceilings or walls for the most natural light reduces stress levels and makes it possible to save on electricity
  • Integration of flora into office spaces. The most relevant solutions at the moment are walls made of plants as space dividers and walls made of moss as a bright accent, which does not require special care. When landscaping an office, you need to understand exactly which plants are suitable for such premises. Improperly selected “green” elements can have the opposite effect and harm health.
  • Biodynamic lighting. Artificial lighting, which reflects natural sunlight, which allows you to regulate human biorhythms.

All this is a new stage in the development of office design, which helps to create a balanced and natural atmosphere in the workplace, reduces stress and allows employees to focus on daily tasks. In addition, experts say that such decisions enhance the creative abilities of staff and have a beneficial effect on the creativity of the team.
