How do global companies get back to office work?
2020-05-27
Most international companies, like the whole world, were quarantined for 2 months and organized their work remotely, reduced staff, and reviewed strategies. After removing some of the restrictions, large corporations developed their own guidelines for returning to office life. CBRE conducted a study in 203 of these organizations and obtained interesting data.
So, in addition to the mandatory conditions, to be masked during working hours and to maintain social distance, about half of the companies introduce contactless technologies to maintain cleanliness.
Three quarters of organizations plan to return people to the office in stages, and not all at the same time, and only 21% will allow guests and customers access to the building.
Also interesting is the fact that only 20% of companies plan to open as soon as the local government allows office work, while 42% will adhere to their own assessment of the situation, and will only open when internal requirements are met.
We should also dwell on the preparation of the office space. So, 82% place informational posters with rules of conduct in the office, 78% create guidelines and establish an internal policy of social distance, 74% mark the distance of the social distance, placing appropriate marks on the floor and setting limiters, and finally 61% arrange furniture to move the distance between workplaces, recreation areas, dining tables was the necessary 1.5-2 meters.
From the above data, we can conclude that a return to office work on a global scale will not be quick, regardless of the policies implemented by local authorities.
